Tyrrells Equine Client Evening Talk - Buying A Horse

I thoroughly enjoyed speaking & meeting everyone last Thursday for the evening talk hosted by Tyrrells Equine Vets.

The team were absolutely amazing and so helpful throughout. The aim of the evening was to raise money for a charity support horses in Ukraine, so a deserving cause in the current climate.

Speakers included a farrier, horse behaviourist, a dressage trainer, vets, as well as myself, for a physiotherapy perspective. I found everyone’s lectures very interesting and they all linked together very well.

Buying a horse can be daunting & overwhelming for some. There is a lot to consider and those with less experience may not aways recognise the ‘red flags’, that many of us professionals see on a regular basis! I have helped many owners find their dream horses over the years. In most cases it has involved a lot of frogs to kiss before finding the prince. Many horses are not what is advertised or clearly have underlying issues which are not mentioned. That’s where having a professional look at the horse with you can help you save a lot of money in the long run.

The main point of my talk was the importance of getting horses vetted - which I had some amazing case studies to share.

Tyrrells kindly gave the speakers a gift which included a Thermos mug - which I haven’t left home without since!

For those of you who attended, I would love to hear your thoughts and what you gained from the evening?
